Fast Lane
Transponder
To obtain a Fast Lane transponder for the Pike go to
www.massturnpike.com –
the initial fee is $27.50 and you must put $20.00 in the account –
it will be refilled when it drops below $10.00. You may be able to
use this account for your Massachusetts Taxes (schedule “Y” number
9) – Fees over $150.00 for FastLane or MBTA transit up to $750.00.
Also, on IRS Form 1040 Schedule A, you may deduct any Medical or
Dental Expenses over 7.5% of your Form 1040 Line 37 (adjusted
gross income). Go to www.IRS.gov

Shapiro Building 7th Floor
- Take Mass. Pike (US RTE 90) Eastbound. The distance and
tolls are from interchange #6 (Springfield)!!
- At exit #15 (the end of the Mass. Pike) there is a toll of
$3.60 (72 miles)
- You are now on the Mass. Pike Extension – there will be a
$1.00 toll at exit #18 Allston/Brighton (as you approach this
exit stay in the two right lanes)
- You will be getting off at exit #22 Copley/Prudential (it
is underground – in the exit there are two lanes – stay in the
left lane – Prudential
- The distance from exit #15 to exit #22 is 10.1 miles.
- You will exit above ground at a stop sign – you will be on
Huntington Ave.
- Get in the left lane and use the underpass. After the
underpass get in the right lane – Longwood Ave. will be a
right turn at a traffic light – there are blue signs detailing
what hospitals are approaching - distance 1.4 miles.
- Go ¼ of a mile to a traffic light on Binney St. – take a
right turn – the parking garage for Shapiro is on the left.
- The parking garage is under the building and has levels
from P1 to P5 – it is sometimes easier to just go all the way
down to P5 and you’ll get a parking spot right next to the
elevators.
- Ask at the
Shapiro 7th floor desk for a form to purchase stickers for the
parking garage – they are only $3.00 for the day.
- To return to the Pike – right turn out of garage – left at
traffic light onto Longwood Ave. – Left at traffic light onto
Huntington Ave. (stay in left lane –use underpass) – at the
end of Huntington Ave. at a traffic light – take a diagonal
right – go 200 feet to the next traffic light – take a left –
go 100 feet to the next traffic light – take a left – go 50
feet – enter tunnel marked Mass. Pike US 90 West – you will be
on the Mass. Pike extension heading west – there will be a
$1.00 toll booth within 2 miles – then another 8 miles to the
entrance to the Mass. Pike.
